Q:I've heard that seasons 5-7 kind of sucked, but apparently 8 is awesome. Is this true? Is it worth watching 5-7 to get to 8?

Personally, I didn’t watch 7 completely, and haven’t seen many episodes from this season because of time management issues. If you’d come off anon maybe one of our followers can help you!

But, I’m sure you don’t need to watch 5-7 to understand 8. You can probably fill in the blanks. I did watch 5 and 6, but I can’t say I think the quality is up to par with 1-3, but that’s my opinion and it’s still pretty good if it’s still running.
